The latest one comes from Weibo user Ice Universe, who has quoted Korean media to disclose specifications of Galaxy Note 8. According to the user, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature a 6.3-inch 2K Super AMOLED curved display, and 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 processor along with 6GB RAM.

Major European Banks Select IBM to Build and Host Blockchain-Based Trade Finance Platform

IBM has announced that it has been selected by a consortium of seven of Europe’s largest banks to build and host a new trade finance platform based on IBM Blockchain powered by Hyperledger Fabric. The platform is designed to simplify and facilitate domestic and cross-border trade for small and medium enterprises in Europe, while helping to increase overall trade transaction transparency. Through a global competitive bidding process, IBM was selected by the Digital Trade Chain Consortium which consists of Deutsche Bank, HSBC, KBC, Natixis, Rabobank, Societe Generale and Unicredit.

IBM and the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop an AI based supercomputer inspired by the human brain

IBM and the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) announced recently that they are collaborating on a neural network based supercomputing system, which is powered by a 64-chip array of the IBM TrueNorth Neurosynaptic System. This scalable platform will feature an end-to-end software ecosystem designed to enable deep neural-network learning and information discovery. The system’s advanced pattern recognition and sensory processing power will be the equivalent of 64 million neurons and 16 billion synapses, while the processor component will consume minimum amount of energy (~ 10 Watts).

Historic Apple-1 computer bought for $365,000

Apple-1, the Cupertino-based tech giant’s first computer which debuted in 1976 has been bought by an unidentified person for $365,000. According to a Fortune report, auction house Christie’s sold the original and working Apple-1 computer at an auction at its New York City office last week. Although there were similar computers on sale from other manufacturers, Apple-1 came with a pre-assembled motherboard, which “put Apple far ahead of its competitors”, according to Christie’s auction listing.
